This morse code translator turns English into dots and dashes, and it turns Morse back into English. English to morse code uses the common international alphabet. SOS becomes three dots, three dashes, and three dots, written as ... --- ... with a space between each letter. A word gap is a slash, so hello world has a slash between the two words. Text to morse code starts in the first box. Paste Morse in the other box to decode it.
Letters A to Z and digits 0 to 9 are included, along with punctuation that has a standard pattern, such as a period, a comma, a question mark, an apostrophe, and an at-sign. Anything else is refused. That includes characters that look like markup. The page does not skip an unknown character silently, and the error does not echo the character back. Type only the alphabet this tool knows.
Going the other way, extra spaces are ignored and a slash starts a new word. The text comes back in capitals. A run of dots that is not a real letter is rejected, so a typo does not become a guessed character. Empty input is rejected as well. Very long text and very long Morse are refused so a pasted novel cannot stall the tab.
A translator and a converter are the same job here. There is no second page that only defines the alphabet, and this page does not play beeps or any other sound. Translation happens in the browser. Nothing is uploaded or saved. Copy the result if you want to keep it. Closing the tab clears both boxes. Check a short word you know, such as SOS, before you rely on a longer message.
